Laugh
A magical poem
The little girl said she saw a fairy
but her dad was hooked on the phone
so the girl turned toward the fairy
the fairy felt safe and called her friends
Wingless pixies, unicorns, elves, nymphs
they all put on a show for the lil girl
a comedy act they reserved for pure souls
souls who could still see the magic of the world
The girl started giggling and laughing
her dad was kind but always busy
a provider first and foremost, with little spare time
his girl was laughing with some blades of grass
He wondered why that was amusing
but his boss demanded his attention
he walked away and let his daughter play
the girl was so happy she started weeping
The fay folk felt her latent sadness
which she always concealed from her dad
so they wanted to put on their best show
they did magic tricks with pixie dust
