Are humans free or are we tied with links?
Strong invisible links that can sometimes be sensed,
sometimes they cannot.
Are they ever cut or do they tie us till the end?

We long to be free, we crave for freedom and me time
but at the same time our tribal instincts yearn for company.
Are we greedy, are we contradictory or is that how Life works?
We can, after all, see the same behavior in animals.

Even the loneliest wolves want company.
They cannot survive on their own for long.
If “Hell is other people”, as Sartre claimed,
then what is, exactly, the definition of Heaven?

I posit that both hell and Heaven is other people.
We need others but we also need our me time.
There is no contradiction,
our two needs are supplementary.

Just like plants need both sunlight and darkness
and require both oxygen and CO2 to survive,
so do we need to be on our own, to breath free.
And afterwards we can use a bit of company.
