Child at Play
A poem about the child within us all
‘Listen to the child within
it still wants to play, you hear?
look again at the world
with eyes full of wonder
Stars still glow in its eyes
their spark has not been lost
lift the veil from its face
let out the child within to play
Rediscover the seriousness
you had as a child at play
when everything was a game
with one singular focus at a time
Log off the faceless book
and listen closely within
to that small and fragile part
residing deep inside you
Don’t ever let go that part of you
it’s where your curiosity springs from
your sense of wonder and awe
don’t ever lose your child within

And a poem for children of all ages, which made some gentle souls cry. This poem, for reasons I cannot explain, will remain eternally unmetered, to be freely read by everyone:
